Rat & Mouse Control in Bahrain

Killing rodents without sealing the entry points just invites the next ones. Silver House inspects, seals and traps, in that order, to get rats and mice out of roofs, false ceilings and kitchens across Bahrain.

Rat near a drain in Bahrain, rodent control by Silver House
Quick answer

Inspect, seal, then trap. Rodents get in through gaps you wouldn't think count: roof edges, unscreened vents, AC pipe openings, cable holes and drains. A mouse needs only about 6 mm, a rat about 2 cm.

/ Warning signs

Signs of rats and mice

If you hear scratching at night, they are probably already inside.

01

Scratching at night

Scratching or running sounds in the ceiling, roof space or walls after dark is the usual first sign.

02

Droppings

Dark, rice-sized (mice) or larger (rats) droppings along walls, in cupboards and near food.

03

Gnaw marks

Chewed cables, food packaging, plastic pipes and wood, often near entry points.

04

Grease marks

Dark smudges along walls and pipes where rodents repeatedly run.

05

Gaps around pipes

Openings around AC pipes, cables and vents are the doors they use.

06

Nests

Shredded paper, fabric and insulation in roof spaces, behind appliances or in storage.

/ Treatment

How we deal with rodents

Treating the problem and preventing it are two different jobs. We do both.

Removal

Getting them out

Combine inspection, sealing entry points, and trapping or tamper-resistant bait stations.

  • Trapping along runways. Traps placed along walls where rodents run, with the right bait, in the right numbers.
  • Tamper-resistant bait stations. Safer around children and pets than loose bait.
  • No loose poison in roofs. Dead rodents in places you can't reach smell terrible.
  • Why traps stop working. Rodents avoid new objects, and traps fail when placed or baited wrongly, too few, or when other food is easy to reach.
Prevention

Pest-proofing

Sealing every gap pests use to enter, so they can't get back in.

  • Metal mesh and sealant. Rodents gnaw through foam and plastic, so metal is used.
  • Door sweeps and vent covers. Close the gaps under doors and in vents.
  • AC pipes and cable openings. The most common entry points in Bahrain villas.
  • Trees touching the roof. Rodents climb pipes, cables and trees, so trim branches back.

/ FAQ

Rodent Control: your questions answered

How are rats getting into my roof, false ceiling or AC vents?

Through gaps you wouldn't think count: roof edges, unscreened vents, AC pipe openings, cable holes and drains. Mice need about 6 mm and rats about 2 cm. They climb pipes, cables and trees touching the roof.

What is the most effective way to eliminate rodents inside a home?

Combine inspection, sealing entry points, and trapping or tamper-resistant bait stations. Avoid loose poison in roofs and walls: dead rodents in places you can't reach smell terrible.

Why aren't my rat traps or glue boards working anymore?

Rodents learn. They avoid new objects, and traps fail when placed wrongly, baited wrongly, too few, or when other food is easy to reach. Glue boards also stop working when dusty.

What is pest-proofing?

Sealing every gap pests use to enter, with metal mesh, sealant, door sweeps and vent covers, so they can't get in. It is the difference between treating the problem and preventing it.

Why do rodents come inside in cooler weather?

In winter, rodents move in for warmth and food, through small gaps around AC pipes, roof edges, vents and cable openings.

How much does rodent control cost in Bahrain?

It depends on the size of the property, the number of entry points to seal and how active the rodents are. You get a clear price after a free inspection.
